Nasir Mannan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and received his Master of Science degree in Mechanical and Software Engineering in 2011 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While pursuing his degree, Mr. Mannan worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Pratt and Whitney, analyzing turbine blade designs, and Otis Elevator, performing research on acoustic wave propagation on elevator machines from 2005 - 2007. In 2007, Mr. Mannan joined the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc, as a Software Engineer, designing, programming and simulating advanced robotic workcells. Mr. Mannan's interests in computer vision technologies led him to begin research and development on vision applications for robotics and development of 3D structured light scanning systems for non contact metrology. In 2012, Mr. Mannan formed M3DI, LLC, specializing in developing and applying advanced structured light scanning systems for a variety of applications.
